Our Summer Bucket List | #17: Nature Center Scavenger Hunt

#17 on the #dicksonsummerbucketlist2014. A scavenger hunt at the Nature Center. I created a list and printed it out on a 3x4 card (so I can slip it in our #projectlife album afterwards) for us to bring on our walk. Selah brought her #flourishleatherkids pBest spot for a nature center walk ;) #dicksonsummerbucketlist2014 #sorengramChecking out the bugs. Spiders, ants, caterpillars, butterflies and flies were on our list! #selahgram @calebelijames #dicksonsummerbucketlist2014Cool leaf Selah found! #selahgram #fromwhereistand

Caleb had the day off on Wednesday, and he wanted to head to the Nature Center. I thought it would be perfect to bring along a list, then we could cross off #17 on the #dicksonsummerbucketlist2014.

I searched for "Nature Bingo" on the web and found these great bingo cards. I just created a 3x4 canvas in Photoshop (perfect to slip in our #projectlife album afterwards) and resized the cards to print out for us to bring on our walk. Selah wanted a few extra items and didn't need the words, so I modified the cards a bit.

It was a great family activity! Soren was happy holding sticks and leaves, and trading the binoculars on and off with sis. Selah did a great job finding things that we were looking for and pointing them out. We found everything on our list!

Summer Bucket List 2014

Follow our summer on Instagram @beccanicole05

Every summer, I can't wait to come up with our summer bucket list! I've been thinking about ideas this last week, and today at lunch Selah helped me come up with some ideas for us to do during the next few months. Since my kids aren't in school, we count our summer as June 1-August 31. I make up a checklist of some typical summer activities, some things the kids have been wanting to do, some local places to visit, and some pinterest activities and crafts for a mix of fun in the sun.

It was so cool this year for Selah to be able to weigh in! She's almost 3 1/2, and she knows of some fun activities, so she came up with "swimming, eating ice cream, watching movies, fishing, etc." I love that she was able to contribute. I plan on letting her help pick the activities and crossing them off as we go.

I also love to put together a summer album or at least an Instagram collage of our activities. This year we'll file them under #dicksonsummerbucketlist2014.

Without further ado, here's our list:

If you want to print one for yourself, you can grab our list HERE. If you'd rather have a blank one to print out, we've got that one available HERE too.

Happy Summer, friends!

Star Wars Day. (& a Project Life freebie!)

If you're into Star Wars, then you know that today is May 4th, a treasured day for fans. My husband loves Star Wars and we've recently gotten our 3-year-old daughter into the franchise as well. She loves the Clone Wars on Netflix, and we've been working through an episode or two every night at bedtime. She's seen two movies, as well, and can identify most of the main characters ... and is quick to correct me if I get them wrong ... Oh look, sis! That's the Emperor! "No, mom. That's not Emperor YETTTTTT. That Senator 'Pal-mamp-time' (Palpatine) and him is not a bad guy until this is over." Oh, rightttt. Okay.

Anyway, I made sure to take a picture of my Star Wars-loving fans today in their Star Wars shirts and gave my daughter "Princess Leia" hair so that I could include them in my Project Life album. If you're a fellow Project Lifer or Scrapbooker, I whipped up this 3x4 card for my album tonight, and I'm willing to share! Just click the image to download, save and print. :) Please, personal use only!

If you like this, you will enjoy the similar prints that I have for sale in my Etsy shop! At the moment I have two Star Wars prints listed and many other prints from popular children's movies. I also take custom orders and welcome custom size requests, as well! Head here to check it out.

May the Fourth be with you! And if you forgot about today, there's plenty of time to watch on Revenge of the Fifth (Sith, haha) tomorrow.

iNSD 2014 is here!

I've been scrapbooking for almost 15 years. It started with the smash books in Middle School — cutting out things from magazines, developing pictures, collecting stickers, and pasting it all right into a composition notebook. I laugh at the huge Creative Memories books I made in High School and the scrapbooking suitcase of supplies that I took to college. How things have changed and evolved over the years!

When I started digital scrapbooking a few years ago, I discovered that scrapbooking had it's own holiday. Seriously? A whole weekend of sales, contests, games, prizes, on all kinds of scrapbooking websites and blogs? Sign me up!

Every year the (inter)National Scrapbooking Day Weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year. And this year does not disappoint — we have tons of fun going on over at Pixels and Company!

The designers and CT members have been working so hard, and as you can see above, here's what we have to offer you:

• A 35% off site-wide sale is going on now until Sunday, May 4.
• Get discounts on your orders! A $25 order gets 40% off, $40 order gets 45% off and a $50 order gets 50% off.
• An awesome Designer blog hop (with a blog hop/coupon code valid for 1 month).

• The return of the Big Payoff contest, where one winner is refunded everything in their cart daily!
• The Dream Cart contest, where one lucky winner gets their dream cart order filled!
• Don't forget to participate in the speed scrap, which is lots of fun! There are two on Saturday at 12 noon and 8 pm (MST).

If you haven't checked out the Designer blog hop that was posted yesterday, be sure to check that out, because the designers are giving this beautiful kit away (for FREE! with the coupon code).

The Creative Team will be busy in the forum this weekend hosting games and giving away prizes, so be sure to check those out for fun and additional chances to win things from your favorite designers!

We are also hosting a blog hop! Each of us has created a little freebie for you using the Bermuda Triangle kit.

Here's my portion of the collaboration (click on the image below to download my card):

Be sure to check out all the other stops on the CT blog hop to grab all of the freebies our team has to offer. From here, you can head to the forum or, if you came to my blog first, you can jump over to the P&Co blog to start at the beginning of the train.

PROJECT LIFE 2014: Documenting January

Here we are in 2014, and I can't believe I'm doing Project Life for a third year! I'm still not finished with 2013, I have about 3 months to go actually, but I am trying to get caught up on 2014 as well.

I originally started out doing monthly for 2014 because I hated paring down so many pictures from the week or not having enough pictures on those tough or sick weeks. With this loose approach I got so behind on photos! So I decided to start doing weekly again and switch up my style a little bit. I couldn't find anything that I wanted to use for title cards (I like mine consistent every week) so I created my own. I really liked these cards by NettioDesigns but couldn't find a purchase link so I based mine off hers and switched them up. I used papers by Deena Rutter for the border since I create a spread for her every month. :)

I have been collecting a lot of 1/3 core kits and am enjoying mixing those cards with the digital cards I've been printing. So I have a pretty diverse collection of supplies. I am enjoying all the hybrid, it's a good mix between digital where I started out, traditional which is what I did most of last year, and now I've finally found a balance between the two!

Can't wait to get February finished up so I can share with you!
